Well, the Blo-No dancer's Tues night dance is a big success... and we're learning new dances and practicing a ton more. It's very relaxed and fun way to learn and there are several "helpers" if you need assistance.

A new social dance opportunity Normal Community Center, Community Activity Center, near 1110 Douglas St. Normal.
(same building as HEARTLAND THEATER or Beech St. to Eastbound Lincoln Ave.. turn NORTH on COLE St. just follow signs for the theater or COMMUNITY ACTIVITY CENTER
or Old Soldiers/Sailors Home area. Parking lot on your right, one story building on the North of the circle drive. Brown signs on BEECH ST tell you where to turn for the HEARTLAND THEATER.. the dance is on the East end of the building)
Join us starting Jan. 10th for dancing to a variety of music for East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Salsa, Night CLub Two Step, West Coast, and more, supplied by DJ Brad, on this beautiful dance floor.
January is a "welcome to dance" month and dances are offered at no charge. 7-9pm.
Starting in February, mini-intro classes will be offered the LAST two weeks of each month, at the beginning of the night, to encourage dancing newbies to join in on the fun, first with East Coast Swing.

Festival in Danville, IL on the weekend of August 27-28. We will be
performing simple English Country Dances to live music and would love

performances are informal (no set schedule) with audience

OHHHH, the rumor mill is going strong in Blm/Nrl. So, let's get it straight... THE SALE BARN IS BEING TORN DOWN.. this is NOT where we have a singles/social dance. The SALE BARN is about a mile south of The Lafayette Club.
There ARE still rumors that The Lafayatte Club will lock its doors.. but that rumor has been going around for about 10 years...

But what we do know..
is that Duke Babb has cancelled all his Singles/Social Dances at the New Lafayette Club..
THAT'S RIGHT..
no dance there on July 22nd.
Duke has been hired on by the Bloomington MOOSE LODGE to become their DJ for twice a month dances.
This Lodge is MEMBERS ONLY.. so they are having a FREE DANCE/MEMBERSHIP DRIVE on Sat. July 23rd, 7-11pm, located at 614 IAA Drive. The Lodge also has ballroom combos and country bands.. the membership fees are quite reasonable...

Body Fitness in Peoria has classes, open dances, and private lessons.

Judithe Rexford of Peoria Heights' Rexford Dance Studio has classes, open dances, and private lessons. All are very reasonably priced. Can dance both man's and woman's part so you don't need a couple to teach an individual. 309-682-8669.

Did y'all have a good time and stay sober?
I had a real good time with SISTER GROOVE at The Parke Hotel. Their buffet table was wonderful... filling and then their dessert selection was TO DIE FOR!!!
The DJ and the band kept several decades of music coming to us and kept us on the floor...

So, we're off for another great year, except I'M EXHAUSTED...

Hello Dancers!!!

I just wanted you to know we have scheduled a GREAT band for our dance Jan. 16 that I'm sure you will really enjoy...DAN RIVERO TRIO (Bill will be in CA). I'll attach flyers and would appreciate it if you help get the word out.

Pat Lyttaker's next round of lessons ($20 for six 1 hour lessons) at the Eagles Club in Springfield will begin Jan. 20th. I'll have info you can pick up at our dance and perhaps arrange to carpool. The location is on the east side of Spgfd and car-pooling makes it even more fun!

Don't forget the dance in Tuscola this Saturday. There's lots of dancing going on in Illiopolis, too. Check out dancingdates.com for dance information/cancellations. If our dance has to be cancelled due to weather, I'll contact dancingdates.com. I'll probably leave a message on my phone by noon that Sunday also...217-875-3090. THE EAGLES CLUB in downtown Bloomington is offering dances on Friday and Sunday nights 7-10. Friday night a lot of singles come in and practice ballroom dancing and line dancing. Sunday night is for country dancing. Located at 313 S. Main St.

MS. EDIE'S OASIS BAR AND DANCEHALL....located at 5406 W. Farmington Road in Peoria. No website for this location. Very easy to find. Mapquest did have the correct directions the last time I looked.
++ Her only dance for adults is the St. Jude's Singles Dance on the fourth Sunday of the month with DOUBLE TROUBLE. 6:30-10 pm, $10

ITOO SOCIAL HALL...located at 4909 W. Farmington Road, Peoria, just down the road from MS. Edie's.... no website available. 309-676-9725 7-10 pm. doors open at 6pm. Large hall with a nice floor. Never been there.
BALLROOM DANCE NIGHT is EVERY Thursday night with a different live band.

Every SATURDAY. Supposedly the first and third Sat. is square dancing and the second and fourth is ballroom dancing. But I'm hearing other things and sometimes just plain misinformation is being given out over the phone.

HOPEDALE WELLNESS CENTER BALLROOM DANCE. The live band NOSTALGICS play every third SATURDAY. 6-9pm Turn at Casey's or stop in and ask where to go. ; )
